Rev. Fr. Pablito Tagura, SVD, of Class 1978, will be ordained bishop on Feb. 17, 2023 at the Christ the King Mission Seminary (CKMS) in Quezon City, by his eminence Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, pro-prefect of the Vatican’s Dicastery for Evangelization.
Bishop-Elect Tagura was born in Tayum, Abra, on Jan. 15, 1962 but he grew up in Tagodtod, Lagangilang, Abra. He attended St. Joseph Seminary from 1974 through 1977. He pursued his priestly formation at the Christ the King Seminary and was ordained priest on Dec. 17, 1988. Pope Francis appointed him as the Bishop of the Vicariate of San Jose-Mindoro on December 17, 2022. He will be installed in his ecclesiastical office by Archbishop Charles Brown, Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines, on February 25.
