The Saint Joseph Seminary High School, Inc. successfully hosted the much-anticipated Knight of the Altar Convention on Saturday, January 20, 2024, under the theme "Serving at the Altar: Expression of Stewardship and Synodality", drawing in over a thousand participants from 38 delegations across the Diocese of Bangued.

The convention commenced with the celebration of the Holy Mass presided over by Father Floro Bautista, the rector of the seminary. In his homily, Father Bautista emphasized the profound role of altar servers, highlighting their service not only to the priests but to Jesus Christ himself.

Frt. Christan Joy Bides, in his address to the participants, stressed the importance of nurturing a spiritual life and a robust desire to serve. He encouraged the altar servers to strengthen their commitment to their calling and to foster a sense of community within the service of the Church.

The event also featured a Festival of Talents, where participants showcased their extraordinary skills in dancing and singing, demonstrating the diverse talents within the church community. Not only did they bring their talents, they brought with them their culture and their stories.

In the afternoon, the atmosphere buzzed with excitement as the participants engaged in various sports and games. The outdoor sports included basketball and volleyball, while indoor activities covered table tennis, pool, chess, game of the generals, dama, scrabble, and word factory. The games were not only a display of physical prowess but also an opportunity for building camaraderie and sportsmanship among the delegates.

The Knight of the Altar Convention was more than just a day-long event; it was a celebration of service to the Church and a step towards building a stronger sense of synodality among the participants. The success of the convention is a testament to the vibrant spirit and dedication of the altar servers and the entire diocesan community.
