Most Rev. Leopoldo C. Jaucian, SVD, DD, the bishop of the Diocese of Bangued, led the celebration of Holy Spirit Mass to open the school year 2020-2021 of the Abra Diocesan Schools last August 24, 2020 at the St Joseph Seminary Chapel.
The mass was concelebrated by Very Rev. Sanny John B. Paguio, the Rector of St. Joseph Seminary, and Rev. Fr. Gary Rex A. Bugtong, the Prefect of Discipline.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, only few were invited to attend. Present were Mr. Jetrix Tenebro, the newly appointed diocesan schools supervisor of the Diocese of Bangued, Mr. Camilo Castañeda, the Parents, Teachers, Formators, Relation (PTFR) President, and the new set of faculty of St. Joseph Seminary.
The new set of teachers, together with the diocesan schools supervisor, took their oath and asked guidance from the Holy Spirit as they professed their faith. The recitation of the Nicene Creed is a sign of their commitment to adhere to the teachings of the Catholic Church in their life and works.
The opening mass was aired live on radio station DZPA and streamed via Facebook.
